It is the policy of Church Recycling to reduce, reuse, and recycle the resources and materials it is given by Churches. Church Recycling is also aware of its ethical responsibilities in the course of its activities.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY
Church Recycling is committed to reducing the unnecessary disposal of unused or unwanted materials donated by Churches. It aims to do this by being committed to a robust recycling program.
Where options for re-use are found to be impossible (or unfeasible), care will be taken to dispose of any products with least harm to the environment. Church Recycling's policy is to reduce, reuse, recycle and only then dispose.
ACTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Church Recycling aims to demonstrate its commitment to the environment (as a donee) by undertaking the following actions:-
Ensuring that all volunteers comply with all the relevant regulations and legislation related to environmental matters.
Measuring the amount of items donated and review further opportunities for reduction and recycling.
Implementing a policy and procedure which will assess the environmental impact of our activities.
Continuing to recycle other materials (eg. plastics, cardboard) as per local authority guidelines.
